First Time Out

Allegra Brown had never run a Hyrox race before she stepped into the arena in Anaheim, California, in December 2025, and in her words, she "didn't know what I didn't know." "I was there to have fun, learn and push myself," she says. The atmosphere was what she calls "absolutely electric," with competitors cheering each other on and her husband, dad, brother and sister-in-law adding to the noise.

She finished in 1:17:51, placing 7th in her age group and 34th overall in the women's solo pro division. The most humbling part was the sled push, alongside women she describes as absolutely incredible athletes, fast and strong. She had researched programs, coaches, classes and gyms beforehand, and says that work set her up for success.

From the Stage to the Start Line

She has been an athlete since before she could sign herself up for anything.

Her mother brought her so early that her day care was at The Pro Club. Soccer came next, then lifting, and it was during graduate school in Connecticut that she found bodybuilding on Instagram. She moved back to Washington, found a coach, and in 2019 stepped onto her first stage. By 2024 she had earned her IFBB pro card.

After that season, she and her husband agreed it was time to start a family. Two years of trying and a long fertility road followed. She found Hyrox as a way to keep competing in the meantime. "This definitely aided in the health of my body and mostly my mind," Allegra says. She started her Hyrox training in August 2025 and raced at Anaheim four and a half months later.

Six Days a Week

Every morning, before heading to her job as an Executive Assistant at Amazon, she is on her treadmill for 45 minutes.

That session has been a non-negotiable for eight years. Evenings bring structured training: strength at The Fitness Compound in Bothell three days a week and Hyrox sessions at Emerald City Athletics and Hybrid Sports Performance on the other three.

Her Saturday sessions with coach Ben Bigglestone have helped her hone the specifics of racing, race day, training and running. As a race approaches, the schedule tightens around what she needs to work on.

Family Over Everything

The cheer squad at Anaheim was stacked: her husband, dad, brother and sister-in-law were there throughout.

Her mother had a prior commitment that day but was there for every second of the New York race in 2026. She is also the person who brought a small girl to the gym and shaped a lifelong love of movement.

"My goal right now is to show how strong women are no matter what," she says. Nineteen weeks pregnant and carrying a girl, she still follows her full training schedule. Family comes first in everything, and her support system has been with her from the very beginning.

The Miracle and What's Next

The pregnancy test came back positive the day she was supposed to receive her IVF protocol.

She had been told her egg count was very low; natural conception was unlikely. The answer arrived the moment she had finally let go, and she and her husband call their daughter a miracle. She is due in March.

Before then, she plans to race at Vancouver Hyrox in December 2026, about seven months into her pregnancy. She has a solo pro ticket and will decide on her division as the race approaches. After Vancouver, the focus shifts to a healthy delivery, a healthy baby, and whatever comes next.
