Hunter's Moon at SOL Up
SOL Yoga booked three live musicians for its Leschi studio on the evening of the 2026 Hunter's Moon.
The 75-minute restorative session was set for SOL Up, the lakeside-facing upstairs room at 200 Lake Washington Blvd. The lineup billed instructor Fiona Baqai alongside Space of Dreams, Chris Haugen, and Keith Lowe. The studio described the sound design: "Bowed bass and spacious, cosmic guitar layers slowly build a cinematic soundscape, while Fiona weaves in singing bowls and indigenous instruments."
Fiona Baqai
Baqai has been teaching yoga for over a decade and leading teacher trainings.
Her E-RYT 500HR is the highest Yoga Alliance credential for experience. She moved to Seattle from Brussels as a teenager, spent years in finance and tech, then shifted to sound and movement work. Outside SOL, she runs Soundflower, a sound-and-movement newsletter.
Chris Haugen and Keith Lowe
In 2013, Haugen recorded a solo Weissenborn album by setting up a single microphone while his teacher practiced.
That recording landed him a deal with Real Music. His catalog has since passed 30 million streams, and SOL has been booking him for a live-music class roughly once a month. The San Francisco Chronicle called his sound "haunting and otherworldly, like a time capsule from a lost kingdom, perhaps Atlantis." On playing for yoga: "I love it. Its great to play music without having to entertain. I just go deep with the sound."
Lowe has played bass for over 40 years, starting in classical orchestras before moving into jazz and rock. He has recorded with Fiona Apple, Bill Frisell, and David Sylvian, among others; he has been part of the Teatro ZinZanni orchestra since 2016 and the Seattle band BRAD since 2008. His most recent album, "Between Memory and Promise," came out on Loosegroove Records on September 3, 2026.
The studio and what's next
SOL Yoga has been operating since 2012; Sarah Goble purchased it in 2019.
In January 2024 the studio expanded into two spaces at 200 Lake Washington Blvd, Leschi, Seattle 98122: SOL Up and SOL Down. The Hunter's Moon session was a separate special class in the upstairs room.
The regular Sound Bath runs the last Friday of every month in SOL Down; pre-registration opens 30 days out. The next posted events at SOL Up are a Foundations of Inversions workshop led by Lisa Black on November 14 and a Chakra Balancing workshop on November 28, both 2 to 4 PM. Haugen's live-music class runs roughly once a month and is available for pre-registration.
